|
This nine-week course is designed for juniors and seniors with an interest in health or medicine. The course is taught in partnership with the Doylestown Hospital. Students will receive both classroom instruction and hands-on service learning experience. The focus of the course is to learn about the correlation between life-style and disease. The goal is for students to be better able to analyze the impact of life-style and disease on the psychological, and social well-being of the individual. This is accomplished through the study of human anatomy (structure) and physiology (function).
Students selected through the application process will need to complete a successful interview with the Advanced Health Coordinator. Enrollment is limited by space available at the hospital.
This course is NOT a substitute for 7061 Wellness/Fitness.
Prerequisite: Certain tests, immunizations, and liability insurance may be required by the host organization. Private transportation to Doylestown Hospital may also be required. |
