Personal Safety Curriculum
As part of the Central Bucks School District Elementary Health Curriculum, a unit on personal safety is taught to pupils in grades K-5. The primary purpose of this program is to make children more aware of sexual abuse by providing them with information appropriate to their age level as well as help them to develop self-protection skills that will make them less vulnerable to exploitation.
Each teacher will teach 2-3 personal safety lessons using the Yello Dyno Pro Curricula. The non-fearful, musically driven, anti-victimization lessons will be presented through age-appropriate videos, scripts, and songs featuring the Yello Dyno character.
The video materials to be used are:
Grades K-1 “Safety Party”
Grades 2-3 “Can’t Fool Me”
Grades 4-5 “Tricky People”

Internet Safety
Grade 6 teachers address the “Dangerous Stranger” issue taught in grade K-5 using material which is thematically similar to the materials used in the earlier grades. The grade 6 Internet Safety lesson is presented in a contemporary manner by utilizing a Yello Dyno PowerPoint slide show about internet safety.
This material/lesson is ideally suited for use with a computer presentation system and may be presented to multiple classes. The use of additional resources such as the NOVA organization and local police department experts is encouraged.
Teachers will find some references to the K to 5 Yello Dyno materials on the Internet Safety CD. The characters and music are proven tools for content retention and over time all CB children will be able to transfer and extend knowledge of the K to 5 Personal Safety message to the internet safety rules.
