Students will:

bullet Demonstrate knowledge of the Five Fundamental Themes of Geography
bullet Identify key persons and events in the history and current society of Europe, Africa, Latin America, and Asia
bullet Demonstrate knowledge of the resources of the four regions and their major economic advantages and disadvantages
bullet Describe the types of government in the four regions being studied, as well as the role of the citizen in those regions
bullet Explain the effect of prejudice against various ethnic groups
bullet Demonstrate an understanding of the societal customs and culture of the four regions, including language, religion, and ethnic background and problems
bullet Describe the inter-relatedness of the United States with the regions being studied
bullet Demonstrate an awareness of current events.  The student will relate current events to the regions of study.
