The Mission

The mission of the Central Bucks Professional Development Program is to provide on-going professional development for teachers such that every student will achieve not only state academic standards but also the broader learning goals set by the district.

Leading the Way

As a rapidly growing school district, Central Bucks inducts more than 150 new teachers each year, providing them a common knowledge base, and instilling in each teacher the district commitment to student achievement

Staff Development Facilitators

Follow-up collegial peer coaching by staff development facilitators is the key to ensuring that participants apply their “workshop knowledge” effectively to the daily curriculum and link it directly to students and student performance.

Coaching Model

Through collaborative peer coaching, the district’s staff development facilitators work together with fellow educators to:  brainstorm ideas, plan and teach lessons with follow-up, observe the instructional process, provide non-evaluative feedback.

Coaching Opportunities

Our hands-on professional development model empowers teachers to help colleagues by providing a structure for colleagues to grow professionally in a supportive atmosphere.
