Grades K-2 are scheduled to visit the library once a week for 30 minutes and Grades 3-6 are scheduled to visit the library every two weeks for fifty minutes. However, it is not necessary for students to wait until their scheduled library class to make a book exchange.
The library is always open for students to come in for a book exchange, make up missed work, or do research with permission from the classroom teacher.
Our library policy is not to charge overdue fines but to periodically send your child a book overdue notice if he or she has not returned a book within the scheduled loan period. We hope by notifying you and your child of the situation, the book will be returned. Please have your child return it to the library as soon as possible, as your child will not be able to check out a new book until the current one has been returned.
In order to maintain our library collection, we must ask for replacement funds for books that are lost or damaged. In the case of a lost book, if it is located and returned within 30 days of payment, your money will be refunded. After 30 days, the money will have been used to purchase a replacement copy of the book for the library and therefore cannot be refunded.
We hope to make your child’s library experience at Butler enjoyable and appreciate your support and cooperation! |
