Dedicated to the Whole Child Lois Benton, Principal
Jamison Elementary School is the home for over 800 students. The theme at Jamison is TEAMWORK: Many Minds, Many Hands, One Goal. The parents, staff, and students comprise the team. The goal is for all students to learn and develop respect and responsibility. Creating a safe environment in which each child feels accepted is important to the members of the Jamison community. We strive to teach to the whole child.
Academic excellence is stressed. All students are expected to try their best. Children are reading and writing daily. The Everyday Math program helps students develop a strong understanding of number concepts, patterns and algebra concepts, algorithms, problem solving skills, and geometry. The social studies and science lessons are taught with many hands-on experiences.
The Jamison Jets pride themselves on teamwork. This teamwork is exhibited in many ways. Science Fun Day and an annual play or talent show are just examples of events in which the Jamison community has an opportunity to work together. In addition, each year a well-known child's author visits, helping students gain insight on reading and writing.
Jamison's pride is strong. You will recognize this as you walk the halls, draped with colorful banners. It is the Jamison Way…Building a Respectful, Responsible, Safe Community. |
