Lenape Courtyard Pond

On Earth Day, April 22, 2008, nearly 300
Lenape students, the staff of James Ponds,
and many volunteer contractors installed a
pond in Lenape's upper courtyard. This
project was designed to give children
and educators a working appreciation
for nature and ecology. In addition to
the observation of nature and related
science subjects, art, creative writing,
and poetry can also be incorporated. 
The opportunities and ideas are limitless
as to how we will integrate the program
into our curriculum.
