Lenape Courtyard Pond
On Earth Day, April 22, 2008, nearly 300 Lenape students, the staff of James Ponds, and many volunteer contractors installed a pond in Lenape's upper courtyard. This project was designed to give children and educators a working appreciation for nature and ecology. In addition to the observation of nature and related science subjects, art, creative writing, and poetry can also be incorporated. The opportunities and ideas are limitless as to how we will integrate the program into our curriculum.

New Lenape Podium
Our new podium was built by several former Lenape students (Max L., James K., Michael M., Patrick G., Joseph T., and James P.) under the supervision of Jon Taylor, Tech Ed. Teacher now at C.B.West. The podium is constructed of mahogany and douglas fir from the original Lenape bleachers (1957) and maple and oak from the original Lenape Library (1957). This podium was dedicated at the Lenape Schools to Watch ceremony on April 27, 2007.

9-11 Quilt
A special thank you to our Parent Council, Student Council, Technology Department, Guidance, staff and students for the great effort in creating, making, and supporting a 911 Quilt for Lenape's foyer. It was a total effort of everyone here at Lenape to complete this project. Volunteers created their stars and many people signed the back of the quilt. Great work. Thanks to Nancy Moran, Family and Consumer Sciences teacher, Paul Carman, Technology Education teacher and Ruth Lake, former Guidance Secretary for their work on this project.
