NCLB Report Card
February 2008
Dear Parents,
We continue to be very proud of the performance of our students on the PSSA standardized tests that are used by the Pennsylvania Department of Education to measure student achievement in schools the state. The results of the PSSA tests are summarized and reported in order to meet the requirements of the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001. The attached NCLB Report Card summarizes the proficiency levels of our students in reading and mathematics.
While these tests are an important indicator of student performance, they do not tell the whole story about our school. Test scores are only one indication of the performance of our students, and I continue to be very proud of the work that I see our students doing each day. As I reflect on the daily performance of our students, a few key “Points of Pride” come to mind:
- Students and staff at our school are committed to helping keep others safe through their words and actions. They treat each other in a positive manner and respect each other’s property.
- Students and staff at Linden contribute to making the environment clean. All students and staff make recycling a daily part of their lives at school.
- Students and staff continue to reach out and help others in need both at home and abroad. They accomplish this through their contributions of time, food, clothing, and school supplies as well as by providing monetary assistance.
- Students continue to be involved in developing work products that require thinking, research, organization, and working collaboratively. Staff continue to stress these life skills in an effort to implement authentic assessment instruments.
I would like to thank parents for the support you provide to your children as well as for the continued support you provide to our school. Please click the link below to review the PSSA test summaries that make up our school’s NCLB Report Card.
