| A tradition of excellence and achievement endures and is constantly renewed at Tamanend Middle School. As a proud member of the Tamanend family, it is my pleasure to welcome you on behalf of our staff, students, and parents.
For 2007-2008, we build once again on a foundation of an impressive tradition. We live our slogan; that is, we are Always Tamanend … All Ways with a direct focus on scholarship, service, spirit, and success.
Scholarship defines the high academic standards expected by our students and the resulting achievement. Whether measured by the outstanding performance of Tamanend students in the classroom or on standardized tests, we are, quite clearly, a school of dedicated and enthusiastic teachers and learners.
Service is part of the fabric of life at Tamanend. Our students respond to the challenge of looking outside themselves in order to be a positive force in the world. The national community service award which Tamanend recently received is a testament to our impact.
Spirit is all around you at Tamanend. Athletic and co-curricular activities are coordinated to maximize student participation. Thrill to the quality of our music concerts; listen to our teachers as they carefully plan to engage students in rigorous, relevant lessons; note the smile on the face of a Tamanend student after communicating effectively in a new language; observe the courtesy and kindness of our students in assemblies and in everyday life at the school. All of these things and more make spirit so much a key to understanding the Tamanend experience.
Success for every student is our ultimate goal. Each day, whether through the use of technology, field experiences, guest presenters, superb coaching/teaching/guiding, we offer students the opportunity to put down positive tiger tracks which will benefit them forever and bring pride to everyone in the Tamanend family.

Events of interest, student accomplishments, and other important information is disseminated in many ways, including the web. Be sure that you have this site bookmarked.
